Naval Air Facility (NAF) El Centro, CA

GCE was subcontracted for this design/build project that was scoped to improve drainage near Building 189 for NAF El Centro on the existing airfield. As Designer of Record, GCE was responsible for the topographic survey, demolition plans, and civil engineering design. The design included concrete aprons to redirect stormwater, a drainage basin to settle solids, new stormwater drainage piping, and a connection to the airfield’s drainage system through a new concrete headwall structure. A parking area for Building 189 was also incorporated into the design. Upon completion of the design, GCE performed the construction and successfully completed the project 60 days ahead of schedule.
