Yuma 242 Wellfield Expansion

Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Project, Yuma County, AZ

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), Lower Colorado, Boulder City Office, contracted GCE for the construction of the 242 Wellfield Expansion and the Yuma Mesa Conduit Extension energy dissipation structures at Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Project, Yuma, Arizona. GCE provided the necessary personnel, materials, equipment, services, and facilities for the purchase and installation of three major items, two cast-in-place concrete energy dissipation structures (including a transition structure) and a plunger valve. The two structures are separated by about 10 miles. Specific tasks included: mobilization and preparatory work, excavation for structures, structural concrete, miscellaneous metal work, metal piping, complete electrical system, compacted backfill about structures, and the plunger valve assembly.
